The Korean word for “succulent” literally translates to “rock lotus,” which—ironically—I didn’t know until after making this painting. Learning that fact added even more joy to the playful imaginings of this work. This painting is an expression of hope for myself as I’m learning to take things less seriously and simply enjoy the fun expressions of my inner reality.
